Yapı Kredi sponsors seven of its employees competing individually in athletics, tennis, mountaineering, and windsurfing events. Thus, the bank contributes to employees’ sporting activities and personal development as well as to the company’s corporate identity. As part of this sponsorship, Yapı Kredi shares employees’ achievements in sports with everyone by publishing stories in its company magazine.
Through our in-house sponsorships, we support our colleagues licensed to compete in individual sports and ranked at the top. In 2007, the following employees continued their activities in their respective sports: Emin Metin Aksoy, athletics; Can Özyurt and Kaan Göker, tennis; Levent Alur, Siyami Serdar Noyan, and Bayram Kuytan, mountaineering.
All our sponsored colleagues have made us very proud of their athletic achievements. As the Yapı Kredi family, we congratulate them and wish their success continues.
Emin Metin Aksoy is part of the Logistics and Cost Management General Services Group. He made our Bank very proud of his many accomplishments this year:
- Competed under our name among 1,643 athletes in the Bremen Half Marathon held September 30, 2007 and placed 2nd among 210 athletes in the 35-year-old age group; and
- Competed among 445 athletes in the International Veteran’s Run held November 11, 2007 and placed 2nd in the 35 to 39-year-old age category.
His goal for this year is to bring a gold medal to our Bank.
Siyami Serdar Noyan is part of the Corporate and Commercial Credit Allocation Group. Levent Alur is the Micro SME Portfolio Manager at our Üçyol branch and Bayram Kuytan works in the SME Credit Allocation Group. They have in common a passion for mountaineering. This year they successfully climbed Mount Ararat and planted the Yapı Kredi flag on the summit. They plan to climb Mounts Hasan and Erciyes during the winter season and climb either a five to six thousand-metre summit in the Himalayas or Mount Damavand in Iran next season.
Kaan Göker is a Commercial Portfolio Manager at our Sultanhamam branch. He has been devoted to tennis for many years. This year he gained many accomplishments. He won the singles and doubles with Can Özyurt at the Koç Sports Festival and at the Hürriyet Cup; and placed 2nd in the singles at the Çamlıca Tournament. He also placed 2nd in the doubles and successfully represented our Bank as a quarterfinalist in the singles at the Kemer Gold and Country Club. His accomplishments in the Hürriyet Cup were published in the Hürriyet newspaper on 1-3 September 2007. His goal is to make it to the “35+ Turkish National Team”; he began training towards this goal.
Can Özyurt is head of the Marketing and New Business Development Group in Yapı Kredi Factoring A.Ş.. This year he placed 2nd in Men’s Singles and 1st in Men’s Doubles with Kaan Göker at the Koç Sports Festival. He also placed 2nd in the 40+ Men’s Singles and 1st in the Men’s Doubles with Kaan Göker at the Hürriyet Cup Friend Tournament. He became a quarterfinalist at the Levent Tennis Club Tournament while placing 1st in the Masters Category of the 2007 Çamlıca Tournament.
